Description
Discover the bariatric gelatin recipe with 7 easy steps for a perfect, healthy treat. Ideal for post-surgery diets, it’s simple and delicious.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons plain gelatin powder
1 cup sugar-free fruit juice (cranberry, lemon, or orange)
1 cup cold water
Instructions
1. Using a heat-safe glass bowl, pour in 1 cup of cold water. Evenly sprinkle 2 tablespoons of plain gelatin powder over the water using a measuring spoon, then let it sit undisturbed for 5 minutes to bloom.
2. In a small saucepan over low heat, gently warm 1 cup of sugar-free fruit juice using a silicone spatula to stir occasionally, ensuring it does not reach boiling point.
3. Transfer the bloomed gelatin mixture into the warmed juice using a whisk. Whisk continuously until the gelatin is fully dissolved and the mixture becomes clear and smooth.
4. Carefully pour the combined mixture into silicone molds or small cups using a liquid measuring cup for precise portioning.
5. Place the filled molds or cups into the refrigerator and allow them to chill undisturbed for approximately 3 hours, or until fully set, before serving.
Notes
Avoid adding fresh pineapple, kiwi, or papaya as they contain enzymes that prevent gelatin from setting.
Serve chilled. Garnish with fresh fruit or a dollop of whipped cream before serving.
