Description

Make your own vegan gelatin recipe with simple ingredients. A plant-based alternative to traditional gelatin for desserts and snacks.

Ingredients

Scale

2 teaspoons agar agar powder
2 cups water
1/4 cup sugar (optional)
1 cup fruit juice (such as apple or berry juice)
Optional: 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or other flavorings

Instructions

1. In a small saucepan, combine the agar agar powder with water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring constantly.
3. Once simmering, add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved.
4. Remove from heat and stir in the fruit juice and any optional flavorings.
5. Pour the mixture into molds or a baking dish.
6. Allow it to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
7. Once set, remove from molds or cut into pieces.
8. Serve chilled.

Notes

Avoid adding fresh pineapple, kiwi, or papaya as they contain enzymes that prevent gelatin from setting.
Serve chilled. Garnish with fresh fruit or a dollop of whipped cream before serving.
