Ingredients
1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin powder
1/4 cup cold water
1/4 cup boiling water
Food coloring gels in various colors
Optional: 1 teaspoon corn syrup for extra shine
Instructions
1. Bloom the gelatin by sprinkling it over the cold water in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
2. Add the boiling water to the bloomed gelatin and stir until completely dissolved.
3. Mix in food coloring gels to achieve desired colors. Add corn syrup if using.
4. Pour the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet in a thin, even layer.
5. Allow the gelatin to set at room temperature for several hours or until firm.
6. Once set, use small cookie cutters or a knife to cut out sequin shapes.
7. Carefully peel the sequins from the parchment paper.
8. Store in an airtight container until ready to use.
Notes
Avoid adding fresh pineapple, kiwi, or papaya as they contain enzymes that prevent gelatin from setting.
